The castle from the beginning of the 14th century was subsequently rebuilt. However the conversion work was hampered by the granite rock on which the castle is standing.
Jan Kryštof Malovec had the residence rebuilt into a baroque chateau in the second half of the 17th century. After an extensive conversion at the end of the 19th century, the residence acguired a romantic look.
