Královéhradecký kraj

It was finished in 1957 and it raised the Vltava water level by 70 m. It started to be filled in 1954 and still in this year it saved Prague against flood.
The power plant is built directly in the body of the dam and it has 3 Kaplan turbines. The dam has no lock chamber and so it represents a substantial obstacle on the Vltava water way. The reservoir also serves the purposes of recreation.
