 Královéhradecký krajConcrete tower Poledník [ Look-out tower ]Until 1989, Poledník was part of the tightly-guarded border zone in the Šumava. At its summit was a military air defence facility; this was destroyed in the early 1990´s, but the 37 m high tower was preserved, and rebuilt as a look-out.
Access for the public has been possible since July 1998, and in its first four months of opening it had over 40000 visitors. LOCATION
