DENATOP S - acrylate dispersion enamel for wood -

DENATOP S is a one-component, water based enamel formulated on the basis of acrylate dispersions with addition of colourfast pigments and special additives suitably modifying the properties of the composition. It features high obliterating power, colourfastness, good adherence to wooden subgrades both dry and wet and good resistance to UV radiation and weathering effects. The dried-up coating is dirt-proof, has aesthetic effect and long lifetime (minimum 10 years in external environment).

Use: DENATOP S is specified for top finishing coatings of both inside and outside wooden structures, especially for painting of wooden windows, doors, door frames, claddings etc. The enamel contains no aromatic thinners and varnish petrol. It contains water and compounds on the basis of glycolethers as thinner. For tool cleaning only water would be used and the thinned paint residues are biologically degradable.

Surface preparation: Prior to application the subgrade has to be dry, free of mechanical and greasy impurities, old coats of low adherence to the subgrade have to be removed, the subgrade has to be penetrated by PRIMER W coating. The coatings showing good adherence to the subgrade have to be degreased and ground by means of emery paper.

Paint application: DENATOP S is applied onto a treated subgrade by brush, lacquering roll, or by spraying, in two layers with a minimum pause of 4 hours between the individual coatings. The enamel is ready for direct application and it is not recommended to thin it with water. The temperature of the subgrade and air must not drop below +10 °C during application and drying of the coating. Both lower temperature and high relative humidity slow down the drying process, the enamel does not produce a perfect film and the lifetime of the coat decreases.

Theoretical spreading rate: 5 - 7 m2 from 1 kg per one coating.

Tinge: DENATOP S is manufactured in shades acc. to RAL colour samples or possibly in other shades agreed upon with the customer.

Packaging and storing: It is packed in plastic or metal packages of 0.8 to 200 kgs weight. The product should be stored in its original packages at temperatures +5 °C to +25 °C at places protected against direct sun sudden temperature fluctuations. Its shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Safety and hygiene: DENATOP S as supplied is a non-toxic and non-combustible composition. On applying the coat it is necessary to wear protective clothes and gloves and to observe the principles of personal hygiene. On spraying the composition it is necessary to use a protective shield or wear glasses and respirator mask. It is recommended to treat the skin expected to come into contact with the enamel with a suitable protective cream. When eyes are affected they shall be washed out by a stream of clean water and in more serious cases a physician should be seen. When working indoors the working place has to be ventilated.
